# Split Lands

> Split Lands is an online 3D strategy board game inspired by Catan, with resource trading, settlements, roads, and cities on a hexagonal board.

Split Lands runs in a web browser and requires JavaScript. Players sign in to access the play menu. Online matches require an internet connection, including matches against bots.

## Game modes

- Multiplayer: create a custom lobby or join a lobby to play with other players.
- Bots: start a private match against two or three bots, or add bots to a custom lobby.
- Leagues: create or join an invitation-based league. Leagues support 3 to 18 members, with tables of three or four players and standings across multiple rounds.
- Tutorials: guided scenarios cover initial placement, resources and building, port trading, player trading, the robber, and development cards.

## Gameplay

Players collect resources, trade with other players or through the bank and ports, build roads and settlements, upgrade settlements to cities, and use development cards. Development cards include knights, road building, invention, monopoly, and victory points.

## Access

Lobby, league, game, and tutorial-session URLs are interactive application screens that require a signed-in player. They are not public rules or documentation pages. Bot matches are online matches, not an offline mode.
